Firearms Safety Class

The Firearms Safety Certification class is for ages 11 and older to attend a classroom-based course and receive their certificate, which becomes valid at age 12.

Firearms Safety Class (March 17, 19, 23, 24, 26 and 27 6:30-8:30pm) consists of six class sessions (students must attend the entire series of classes), learning the safe handling of firearms, hunter responsibility, firearm handling, marksmanship, wildlife identification, game management, conservation, game care, outdoor survival, water safety, and first aid awareness. Students then complete the additional field day.
Field Day (March 28 8:00am–1:00pm) consists of seven scenario-based training opportunities to allow students to lean and demonstrate commonly accepted principles of safety in hunting and the handling of firearms. It includes shooting a .22 caliber rifle on the range.
